My web development company is called IntelligentDesignMarketing.com — and sometimes I get heat from the “techie” community because of that name since a good percentage of that industry are atheistic darwinists/naturalists.

I just had a really nice guy (he really was), tell me that he would do his website through me if I changed the name of the company. He said, “I wouldn’t trust anyone who named their company Intelligent Design.”

I asked him if my company was called “Evolutionary Design” if that would be better, and he said yes. He said that Intelligent Design (or ID) is the name given to a failed attempt by religious groups to teach myth in science classes. This, of course is nonsense, and I put excerpts of my researched response below.

However, he was right about one thing, he said from a marketing perspective — since I am targeting people from the tech industry, who are widely known as naturalistic and atheistic, my name would turn most people off and that it wasn’t smart marketing. He is absolutely right, there are probably a lot of people who see that name and are turned off.

But isn’t that being close minded? Isn’t that exactly what they would accuse people who believe in God of? In an age of scientific enlightenment, shouldn’t you drop all preconveived notions and just figure out what the facts are? If the truth really matters, then you should do exactly that — however, I am convinced that a lot of people don’t want the truth if it affects their current lifestyle or beliefs.

Here are some excerpts of my response, this was written fairly quickly so if the grammar and language isn’t totally correct then you know why. Also, please realize that my purpose of writing these emails is not to be combative or to argue, but if someone talks nonsense without providing concrete evidence, then I think it is necessary to explain what you believe and why you believe it.

“However, you are dead wrong about saying intelligent design is a “failed attempt” and that it is related to schools. You are misinformed. Darwin’s theory has never been proven, in fact it has been refuted on many levels by scientists around the world who used to be strong promoters.  In an age of scientific enlightenment, Darwin’s theory doesn’t hold up. For example, for his theory of evolution to be validated we would have had to of found transitional forms in the fossil record — none have ever been found and none ever will be found. Of course, micro evolution is true (evolution within species), but to say that certain species evolved from others (a fish turned into a bird) is absurd and has no basis in reality or science.

I don’t know what schools you went to but Intelligent Design was never taught in any school I went to — even today with all of the scientific proof out there which squashes Darwinism, it is still taught as a proven fact. Darwin’s flawed theory is taught as 100% truth as if there were no other possibilities.

The thing that all atheists and Darwinists need to be honest about is that both atheism and Darwinism are forms of religion. These beliefs are held to with religious fervor even though the scientific proof is very far fetched. It takes more faith to be a Darwinist than it does to believe that a Creator designed the heavens. I used to be an atheist, but I took the time to do years of investigation and realized that there is so much evidence for creation it is overwhelming. I also realized that the “theory” I was taught as truth in school was severely lacking any true scientific validation — and I can’t believe it was and still is being taught as truth.

Even Darwin himself admitted that if transitional forms were not found in the record, then his theory would not work. So why is it still being taught as 100% truth with no alternatives? Doesn’t sound like objective science to me.”

The person then responded (very politely) with “I’ve found most people who follow things on blind faith aren’t easily convinced otherwise.”

Here is my response:

“First, I want to thank you for being pleasant about this subject, most people I talk to about this get so irate and out of control it is crazy.

However, what I believe is the farthest thing from blind-faith as you can get. I would argue that atheism and darwinism are “blind-faiths” because there is nothing in nature or science that would confirm them. Atheism is a logically fallacy - to be certain that there is no God you would require perfect knowledge of all things (omniscience) and you would have to possess Godlike characteristics which we don’t have. However, these theories are vehemently defended with very little proof — which is why I classify them as a religion. Anthony Flew, the most famous atheist of our time, has recently changed his view (although he does not believe in a Christian God) because he says that with today’s scientific evidence, naturalism is an inadequate explanation for how life began.

If you study Darwin’s writings, you will find that it is not a science — Darwin superimposed an atheistic/materialistic worldview on nature, then searched for the facts to support his theory. Read his published private notebooks and personal communication and it reveals that Darwin was an atheist and his theory of natural selection was formulated to replace a Creator with naturalistic processes. To take a preconceived notion and then make a theory out of it is not science — just like it is not a science to start out with a Creator and then trying to build a case around that premise.

Remember, I was once a full, hard core atheist and I was open minded enough to look for actual evidence and that is how I formed my beliefs — not by faith, but by actual scientific empirical evidence. That is what I would encourage you to do. It is not as if the truth isn’t easily accessible — most people don’t want to believe in a Creator because it affects their current lifestyle. However, this search can and will determine your eternal destiny. As you know, belief in something doesn’t make it true. A lot of people believed David Koresh and followed him to their death, but that doesn’t make what he taught true, in fact, it was 100% false.

So it doesn’t matter what you and I believe to be true, the only thing that matters is what is actually true — and I sincerely hope you spend the time like I did to search for that.

Thanks again, hope to talk again someday.”

In Luke 15:11 Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son where the son leaves and rebels, but then comes back and his Father welcomes him with open arms. This video reminds me of something different - the reunion you as a believer will have with family and friends who have died, who were believers, in Heaven someday. Only it will be exponentially greater than this!

Illustra Media did an amazing job on this DVD, the computer generated graphics are stunning and the information from leading scientists will open your eyes to a world that you were not taught about in school. At the end of this first clip, they show all of the factors necessary for advanced life to exist and how those conditions are extremely rare in our Universe. It also demonstrates how our position in the Universe gives us the best vantage point for scientific and cosmological discovery — is it possible that our Universe could have been designed for discovery, and we were put in the prime location in the Universe to make these discoveries?

Scott Peterson was convicted of a double murder under US law for killing his wife and unborn child, yet a doctor could have killed that same child (for money) with no consequence. Any rational human being would have to admit there is something wrong with that.

At some point, you have to draw a line between truth and political B.S. — especially when it affects innocent babies who cannot defend themselves. At what point are people going to stand up for the rights of the most fragile, innocent members of the human race? The article below focuses on Obama, but just to be clear, I would be 100% against ANY candidate who would take the position outlined in this article.

And before you pass this article off as being written by someone who is unfairly “judging” Barack Obama or anyone for that matter, you need to know that the reason I am so passionate about defending the innocent, is that over 14 years ago, my wife (then girlfriend) and I had an abortion and killed our first child. Through that horrible, despicable act, we realized how wrong we were and that it was the biggest mistake of our lives. We then got our lives right with God, and vowed to not let our child die in vain. We made a HUGE mistake with eternal consequences but we were forgiven of that heinous act through the love of Jesus Christ. So I don’t sit at the judgment seat, as I am one of millions of people who have killed a child through abortion and live to regret it.

The audio clip and the references below contain extensive documentation from legitimate doctors who have demonstrated that life begins at conception — if you listen to this short, yet compelling audio clip, Hank Hanegraaff eloquently explains the absurdity of anyone who would support this type of procedure. Partial birth abortion is a HORRIBLE procedure that should not be legal in even the most uncivilized countries of the world, yet HIGHLY educated people like Obama would like to see this ban lifted (Obama claims the first thing he will do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act which will lift the ban on partial birth abortion). Most Americans are sickened at the thought of doing this to a child or to any living thing for that matter — which is why even the most prominent pro-choice advocates oppose the procedure.

Obama and several other politicians would like to legalize partial birth abortion, which is a ghastly procedure where an abortionist partially delivers a baby while stabbing it in the back of the skull . This is one of the most grotesque procedures you could ever imagine and it is something that should never be allowed under any circumstances.

In fact, Obama’s wife Michelle, wrote a letter in 2004 calling partial birth abortion a “legitimate medical procedure” and called the 2004 Congressional ban of the procedure “unconstitutional”. You can see a copy of this letter below, along with the documentation of the 2004 ban, where both Republicans AND Democrats united to put a stop to this horrific act.

Remember, Barack Obama was the head of the Harvard Law Review and he is is far above the average “intelligence” of most Americans. He is a very smart man and he is fully aware of the scientific data and evidence available today – yet he still supports partial birth abortion which, in my opinion, is insane — and unacceptable.

If you showed videos of a partial birth abortion to a CAVE MAN he would instinctively know that it was grotesque and wrong. We live in an age of scientific enlightement, with access to more information than any generation since the beginning of time — yet powerful people in high offices will turn their back to the facts and promote something barbaric and wrong for political gain.

This clearly violates one of the top six things that God HATES in Proverbs 6:17 “hands that shed innocent blood.” This type of procedure, as well as abortion for any reason, violates His law. God calls us to defend those who can’t defend themselves. We have let despicable organizations like Planned Parenthood run wild for too long. Planned Parenthood receives MILLIONS of our tax dollars every year to run their dishonest, immoral business of talking young people into getting abortions. They recently committed crimes against Kansas law by performing illegal abortions and falsifying documents to hide criminal activity — but last year they flexed their political muscle and turned the tables by filing a lawsuit and suppressing patient records so they could not be used as evidence.

God is a God of forgiveness, and He forgives anyone that comes to Him no matter what you have done. But you need to turn from evil ways, and supporting things like killing innocent babies while they are in the process of being born, is nothing short of evil.

This clip below is not about the horrible procedure of partial birth abortion, instead, it demonstrates the scientific proof available which shows life does in fact begin at conception. Most people are unaware that scientists (both Christian and non-Christian) agree on this fact. The evidence is overwhelming — but even if there was no scientific evidence available, just look at an ultrasound of a 26 week old fetus and tell me that it is not a viable human being (if it isn’t a human at conception, then what is it?)

Obama On Life Audio Clip
Taken from www.equip.org

Here are some of the scientists he quotes in the audio:

  • Dr. Micheline Matthew-Roth, a principal research associate at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Medicine, puts it, ” It is scientifically correct to say that an individual human life begins at conception, when egg and sperm join to form the zygote, and this developing human always is a member of our species in all stages of its life.” 10
  • French geneticist Jerome L. LeJeune bore eloquent testimony to the truth of Dr. Matthew-Roth’s remarks when he gave the following testimony to a United States Senate sub-committee: ” To accept the fact that after fertilization has taken place a new human has come into being is no longer a matter of taste or opinion. The human nature of the human being from conception to old age is not a metaphysical contention, it is plain experimental evidence.”
  • Dr. Hymie Gordon, professor of medical genetics and a physician at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, best summarized the perspective of science when he said, ” I think we can now also say that the question of the beginning of life - when life begins - is no longer a question for theological or philosophical dispute. It is an established scientific fact. Theologians and philosophers may go on to debate the meaning of life or purpose of life, but it is an established fact that all life, including human life, begins at the moment of conception.”

Two thousand years ago Christ warned us that ” the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed!’” (Luke 23:29). The present day abortion holocaust has driven those words home in dramatic fashion. Consider the statements of some of the spiritual and secular leaders of our age (YES THESE IDIOTS ACTUALLY SAID THESE THINGS BELOW)

  • Beverly Harrison (professor of Christian ethics at Union Theological Seminary) - ” Infanticide is not a great wrong. I do not want to be construed as condemning women who, under certain circumstances, quietly put their infants to death” (emphasis in original).2
  • Esther Langston (professor of social work at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas): ” What we are saying is that abortion becomes one of the choices and the person has the right to choose whatever it is that is…best for them in the situation in which they find themselves, be it abortion, to keep the baby, to adopt it, to sell it, to leave it in a dumpster, to put it on your porch, whatever it’s the person’s right to choose.” 3
  • Mary S. Calderone, M.D. (head of SIECUS - Sex Information and Education Council of the United States): ” We have yet to beat our drums for birth control in the way we beat them for polio vaccine, we are still unable to put babies in the class of dangerous epidemics, even though this is the exact truth.”
  • Margaret Sanger (the late founder of Planned Parenthood): ” The most merciful thing a large family can do for one of its infant members is to kill it.” 5
  • Nobel Prize laureate James Watson (co-discoverer of DNA) - ” Because of the limitations of present detection methods, most birth defects are not discovered until birth. . . . However if a child was not declared alive until 3 days after birth . . . the doctor could allow the child to die if the parents so choose and save a lot of misery and suffering.”

The quotes on this page were taken from this website.

The only reason why this has gone so far is because the church has been asleep on this subject and it is time for ALL Christians to be able to give solid answers for what they believe in. The problem we have today is NOT because of Obama or any other politician. Secondary issues are not worth exerting a lot of energy on, but something like this, which allows for the horrible, painful death of innocent human beings (right here in our own backyard), deserves our immediate attention.

INFORMATION ON THE 2004 BAN:
Congress first passed similar laws banning “partial-birth abortion” in December 1995“, and again October 1997, but they were vetoed by President Clinton.[13]

In the House, the final legislation was supported in 2003 by 218 Republicans and 63 Democrats. It was opposed by 4 Republicans, 137 Democrats, and 1 independent. Twelve members were absent, 7 Republicans and 5 Democrats.[14] In the Senate the bill was supported by 47 Republicans and 17 Democrats. It was opposed by 3 Republicans, 30 Democrats, and 1 independent.[15] Two Senators were absent, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tx.), a supporter of the bill, and Sen. John Edwards (D-NC), an opponent of the bill.

Here is the letter sent by Michelle Obama:

UPDATE 9-1-2008

It was recently reported that Obama opposes the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (BAIPA). The BAIPA simply requires that when a baby survives an attempted abortion - when he or she is “born alive” - further attempts to kill the baby must immediately cease, and steps must be taken to ensure the baby’s health and well-being.

While serving in the Illinois state senate, Obama led the fight against a state version of Born Alive that was substantively identical to the federal BAIPA.  In 2002, BAIPA passed the U.S. Senate with unanimous, bipartisan support; yet, Obama vehemently opposed its Illinois twin.

In 2004 Obama was criticized for his complicity in facilitating infanticide. Obama denied it, but recently the National Right To Life Committee uncovered the truth and Obama was forced to admit that they had lied and tried to cover it up. (see the documentary evidence here).

The bottom line is that most human beings in their right mind (even the most hardened criminals) would advocate the killing of innocent children.  Remember, the American Medical Association has determined that partial-birth abortion is never necessary under any circumstances. This has NOTHING to do with a woman’s rights, because neither a woman or a man has the right to kill an infant for any reason, especially not with a barbaric procedure like partial birth abortion.

But to kill a baby who has survived abortion, is a huge step closer into insanity. Where do you draw the line? Why not make it legal to kill a Down’s Syndrome baby within the first 1 or 2 years of their life — what is the real difference? Science has already proven that there is more than just a blob of flesh present at conception, so why aren’t people aware of that?

What this comes down to is this — one of the most evil organizations of our time, Planned Parenthood, has so much power and influence due to the BILLIONS of dollars they are allowed to make each year murdering infants — that some politicians have to support their cause or they lose political support.

All I am saying is that ANYONE, Republican or Democrat who holds this twisted, illogical view of infanticide should NEVER be allowed to hold any public office unless they publicly renounce this twisted view.

Watch this video about how these babies who survived an abortion were left to die (there are no graphic images) :

Since Roe v Wade, abortion is responsible for more deaths than any other holocaust in the history of the world — these are innocent babies who are made in the image of God — they deserve to live. More importantly, God has a plan for each and every human being on Earth, and to mess with His plan, the One who spoke and the universe lept into existance,  is nothing short of insane.

Viggo Olsen was a brilliant surgeon who graduated cum laude from medical school and later became a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of surgeons. In 1951 he was challenged by his wife’s parents to examine claims of Christianity for himself.

Olsen recalled, “Just alike a surgeon incises a chest, we were going to slash into the Bible and dissect out all its embarrassing scientific mistakes.”

After he started his investigation he ran into problems. He remembers that he had trouble finding scientific mistakes. “We’d find something that seemed to be an error, but on further reflection and study, we saw that our understanding had been shallow. That made us sit up and take notice.”

After examining the evidence, Olsen became a Christian and later gave his life to be a full time missionary in India. He was later honored with Visa #001 for his contributions to the country.

This is a man who was extremely educated, a brilliant surgeon, someone who was not willing to take a blind leap of faith, and after exhaustive research he was willing to admit, like so many others have, that the historic Christian faith is much more than a religion, it is based on a man who walked this Earth as the Theanthropos, the God-Man. The evidence that supports the resurrection of Jesus is so overwhelming it demands a verdict and Christianity lives and dies by the fact of the resurrection — without it, Christianity does not hold water.

Olsen went from an agnostic to giving up his career, his entire life, to serve people in India. this quote from Olsen is one of my favorite quotes because he knows from experience what it is like to live life to its fullest and to depend on God for everything:

“It was the greatest adventure we could ever have. When you’re in a hard place, when you’re in over your head again and again, when you’re sinking and beyond yourself and praying your heart out — then you see God reach out and touch your life and resolve the situation beyond anything you could have ever hoped…Thats living it up! He went on to say, In my opinion, finding the purpose for which God made you — whatever it may be — and then fully pursuing it is simply the very best way to live.”

Olsen documented his life in the famous book called Daktar.

Jesus

This is from John F. Walvoord’s article entitled The Person and Work of Christ, available here at Bible.org.

The evidence of Scripture is so complete that one who denies the deity of Christ must necessarily reject the accuracy of the Scriptures. Berkhof summarizes the evidence for the deity of Christ in these words: “We find that Scripture (1) explicitly asserts the deity of the Son in such passages as John 1:1; 20:28 ; Rom 9:5; Phil 2:6; Titus 2:13; 1 John 5:20, ; (2) applies divine names to Him, Isa 9:6; 40:3 ; Jer 23:5, 6; Joel 2:32 (comp. Acts 2:21) ; 1 Tim 3:16; (3) ascribes to Him divine attributes, such as eternal existence, Isa 9:6; John 1:1, 2; Rev 1:8; 22:13 , omnipresence, Matt 18:20; 28:20 ; John 3:13, omniscience, John 2:24, 25; 21:17 ; Rev 2:23, omnipotence, Isa 9:6; Phil 3:21; Rev 1:8, immutability, Heb 1:10-12; 13:8 , and in general every attribute belonging to the Father, Col 2:9; (4) speaks of Him as doing divine works, as creation, John 1:3, 10; Col 1:16; Heb 1:2, 10, providence, Luke 10:22; John 3:35; 17:2 ; Eph 1:22; Col 1:17; Heb 1:3, the forgiveness of sins, Matt 9:2-7; Mark 2:7-10; Col 3:13, resurrection and judgment, Matt 25:31, 32; John 5:19-29; Acts 10:42; 17:31 ; Phil 3:21; 2 Tim 4:1, the final dissolution and renewal of all things, Heb 1:10-12; Phil 3:21; Rev 21:5, and (5) accords Him divine honour, John 5:22, 23; 14:1 ; 1 Cor 15:19; 2 Cor 13:13; Heb 1:6; Matt 28:19.”4

More will be posted on this subject as I believe this is the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of Christianity. It reveals Christianity as a historical faith, not a blind leap into a dark cave. If the Bible is historically accurate and Jesus really claimed to be the Theanthropos, God in human form — and if the resurrection can be proven as a fact based on the evidence we currently have, then you have something that goes WAY beyond religion. It is not about religion, it comes down to this question, “Did Jesus walk the Earth as fully God and fully man?”

If He did it changes every life of every person on this planet.

Look at this article by Brian J. Wright on Bible.org — this is an academic paper that goes into incredible detail regarding the proof presented in the Bible about the deity of Jesus.

Richard Dawkins
In Expelled The Movie Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion, quoted Bertrand Russell at the end of the film when he was asked by Ben Stein (I am paraphrasing), “What if you are wrong and you meet God when you die, what will you say to him?”

Dawkins confidently answered by quoting Bertrand Russell, who was apparently asked the same question during his lifetime, by saying (again a paraphrase), “He (Russell) would ask God why He didn’t make Himself more evident.”

Paul wrote in Romans 1:20:

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

In Psalms 19:1-4:

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.

3 There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard. [a]

4 Their voice [b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun,

Dawkins will probably not have the chance to ask God such a lame question (after he dies), because at that time he will realize his destiny and the chances God gave him throughout his lifetime (unless he turns to God before he dies). It is amazing to me how a “scientist” like Dawkins could miss God’s footprint in the very discipline he claims to be an expert in.

Bertrand Russell once responded when asked whether or not he would die for his beliefs, “Of course not. After all, I may be wrong.” (quoted from the Encarta Book of Quotations 1999)

I am sure Russell has a much different world view now.

Paul, Peter, John, and several other apostles and followers of Jesus were definitely prepared to die for what they believed, evident by their willingness to die horrible deaths for their belief in Christ. You see, they were quoting the right person, the Theanthropos, Jesus Christ when He said:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

I think if Dawkins was honest about it, he would report several instances in his own life since he was born, where God has tried to make Himself known to him. Through people, through experiences, by looking at the Heavens, and countless other efforts — and if Dawkins was honest, he would tell you that he has turned his back on this evidence and he has turned a deaf ear to God. The Bible is clear that God wants no one to perish but all to come to Him — there are over 200 verses in the Bible that affirm this universal truth.

Dawkins should not be quoting Russell, he should be looking to the One who knit him together in his mother’s womb, the One who spoke and the Universe leapt into existence, the One who died and physically rose from the dead in the greatest event in the history of mankind. Dawkins should be quoting the God-Man, the Theanthropos, not Bertrand Russell, I pray in his lifetime he figures that out.
